On March 12, 2020 the Monroe County Board of Commissioners released a statement that they had decided not to contract with Duke University on well tests. Many of you have expressed concern regarding this decision. The Board is committed to protecting the residents of the area of Juliette and all of Monroe County. In that regard, the Board is currently in consultation with an Atlanta law firm experienced in handling situations similar to that which the county now faces. The Board is committed and intends to proceed with testing, but will do so with legal counsel in a manner that is best suited to further the Board’s ability to preserve its legal options and to best protect the residents of Juliette and Monroe County.
